Water Temperature Gauges
Maintaining the correct coolant temperature is important to prolong the engine's performance and reliability.
Accurate readings can provide advance warning of engine over-heating before a critical loss of coolant can occur.
The sensitive pointer response on your Classic Temperature gauge movement will even indicate the opening and closing of the thermostat.

Oil Temperature Gauges
Much of the cooling effect in the engine is from the oil film that is coating the moving parts. If the oil's temperature exceeds the normal 190-220 degrees F the lubrication qualities will begin to fail and may result in severe engine damage.
Applications include oil pan temperature, or temperature of return line oil-flow from an external cooler. It may also be fitted with a sending unit to allow a reading of the temperature of the automatic transmission fluid in transmission pan.

Transmission Temperature Gauge
This gauge was first released in late 2000 and is available only in the Vintage Series styling at this time. It is for use in those applications requiring a close monitoring of the relative temperature of the transmission fluid.
It operates from a remote sensor usually installed in the return line between an external oil cooler and the transmission. Use only a Classic Temperature Sensor in the correct thread size for best results.
